I'm a cat lover so I had to have a go at making some glass cats out of my glass pebbles. I have managed to make ginger, tabby and black cats. There's even a black and white moggie.
The cats are made by melting and fusing 6 layers of glass together in a kiln at 800C. Then the puddle is broken into small pieces which are heated again to smooth their jagged edges and make pebbles. The pebbles are then attached to backing glass and the details added so each piece has its own character. I love the ones watching the birds!
This pebble picture is in a box frame measuring 15cm x 20cm and can either stand on a surface or be hung on the wall.
I also have smaller pictures with robins, blue tits or cats.
